Street Views in Lucerne, Switzerland

Winding through a city’s center usually allows one to get a feel of where the city has been and where it is going. Old Town Switzerland seems to embrace modernism and big brands, while preserving the unique cobblestone streets and architecture that make it distinctively Old Town. Sandwiched between the lake and the River Reuss, there are details about the older part of the city that will bewilder. Wrought iron, red tiled roofs, colorful facades, and plants from windowsills.

One does not need an itinerary, but merely time and a leisurely afternoon in which to wind through the narrow cobblestoned streets. It is relatively safe and shopkeepers are pretty friendly.
