Jesuit Church in Lucerne, Switzerland

The Jesuit Church sits on the River Reuss in Old Town, Lucerne. The majestic building was erected in the late 1600s and is said to be the first large Baroque church built in Switzerland north of the alps. The interior is exquisite, with lots of embellishments and details for the eyes to devour. It is still very much an active church and has for a long time, influenced public life in Lucerne, representing the Catholic faith. The church is open to the public, though religious events and other dates of importance should be observed with respect.
