Kødbyens Fiskebar in Copenhagen, Denmark

Kødbyens Fiskebar is rated with a Bib Gourmand in the Michelin guide, meaning high quality meals at a decent price. This place is by no means cheap and a meal for two set us back about $120. We sampled delicious French oysters, a very unique dark bread with butter, fish and chips, and hake. The accompaniments to the hake, which is a flaky white fish, is seasonal and as with most nordic cuisine, everything is based on seasonality. We were so impressed by the quality of the food and the depth of the flavor. Needless to say, every plate was sent back clean. We were offered a second helping of bread and much to our regret, we simply did not have room for seconds.

Reservations are recommended as we went on Monday evening with no reservations and then tried again for a Saturday evening but were offered 9PM which was a tad late for us. Our phones or credit cards had issues making reservations on the website.
