The Weekender: September 2022 Edition

September is a great month in my books. I love that it’s the in-between month for Summer and Fall. Things are starting to cool down, so I’m half as cranky and it means we’re entering fall which I adore with leaf changes, sweater weather, and spooky good fun for Halloween. Ok, is this September or am I already dreaming about October? September I think its ideal time to travel and though I hadn’t planned on doing so this year, I took a spontaneous trip with my sister to Copenhagen.

New Jersey with Family

This was my first time going to Long Beach Island in New Jersey. We spent the weekend with family and kept it low-key with a bike ride, a walk on the beach, a trip to the amusement park, soaking in the pool, and doggy cuddles. It’s a quintessential slice of Americana, a nice beach town with relaxed vibes. A lot of shops were actually closed for the season. It was a lot of fun and can’t wait to come back again. It was absolutely the perfect weekend.

New Hampshire Wedding

September was also the wedding of one of Danny’s best friends. He was in the wedding party so we arrived early and enjoyed a dinner the night before with the family. The wedding was beautiful and the bride was glamorous. I didn’t get many pictures as I was trying to be a good guest and not get in the way of the photographer! The hotel lobby hangouts and Cracker Barrel brunch sendoff between the four of us were certainly memorable. I can’t even complain that we spent a large part of the weekend driving.

Copenhagen Denmark for a Week

It ended up being a great time for my sister and I to take a trip. We hadn’t been on a sisters trip since our trip to Asia together in 2019 so it’s been about 3 years! The city had been on my shortlist for a while and I had so much fun planning what to do. The food was expensive but I never had a bad meal and the sites were absolutely beautiful. This short paragraph will not encapsulate everything so look forward to posts about the city and longer blog posts about our experience.
