Poppie's Fish and Chips is a staple for Britain's most famous dish consisting of fried battered fish and what we call fries. It's a common fast food or take away food in the UK. Some of the best fish and chips platters can be found in local shops, but Poppie's is a nice chain restaurant. They have a varied menu with everything from jellied eels to mushy peas to roast chicken. And of course the famous fish and chips which come in cod or haddock.

Originally peddling meat, poultry, and game, it now houses upscale retailers and unique eateries. It's survived the weathering throughout the years and even the Great Fire. In the early 90's it was extensively restored.

Read MoreOne of my favorite things to do during summertime is find a place for a nice weekend getaway so I can see a new place without breaking into the vacation bank. It's an island, decently sized for a good hour moped ride or five hour bike ride (crazy hills at times though) and perhaps way to big to stroll around (though it's possible). This itinerary is a bit different than my usual ones. There's way less walking, and a more casual listing of what to do on the island.
